City of Augusta Kansas

The Wastewater Collection department provides for safe collection and transmission of wastewater through the City's underground sewer mains, collectors, and interceptor lines.  The purpose of the Wastewater Department is to maintain the collection system in such a manner that protects the public safety, health, and environment.

 

 

 - No grease down the drains. (Cooking oils, fats, etc.)

 - No motor oils down drains.  (This is illegal.  Take oil to a hazardous waste collection site.)

 - No egg shells down disposals or drains.  (Dispose in solid waste bins.)

 - No kitty litter or coffee grounds down disposals or drains.  These gritty materials sink, causing blockages in lines.
