What is RSS?

RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is quickly becoming the most popular method for disseminating news headline information over the internet.

Why use RSS?

RSS is the most efficient way to organize your news resources. An RSS "feed" allows subscribers to control their subscription.  You only view the content you want to view, when you want to view it.  Since the news comes to you, you will not have to search through the entire website to find updated content.

How can I subscribe to the City of Augusta's news feeds?

Look for the RSS icon rss feed icon on your web browser, and click on it.  Most web browsers already come equipped with RSS detectors.  For example, the icon for Internet Explorer is located in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

If you prefer to use an RSS feed reader (i.e. My MSN, Google Reader, My AOL, My Yahoo, etc.), simply click on the feed that you want to subscribe to and then copy and paste the RSS Url into your news reader.

Does the feed subscription cost any money?

No, it is free to subscribe to City of Augusta RSS feeds.

How do you view your subscribed feeds?

You view subscribed rss feeds on the Feeds tab in your Favorites Center.  To view your feed after you have subscribed, click on the Favorites Center button in the top left hand corner of the screen, then click Feeds.
