Augusta City Lake
Fee Schedule Resolution No. 2022-11 has changed the language “Lake Augusta Boat Permits” to “Vessels Requiring Stage Registration” in the Augusta City Lake section of the fee schedule (directly under “Parks & Recreation Division"). In combination with Ordinance No. 2189 (also approved at the April 18, 2022 City Council meeting), this means that individuals are no longer required to register human-powered vessels including canoes, paddleboards, and kayaks at Augusta City Lake. This brings the regulations for Augusta City Lake in line with the regulations at Santa Fe Lake. If you have already paid for a permit for a human-powered vessel at Augusta City Lake for 2022 and are interested in receiving a refund, please visit the Augusta Department of Public Safety at 2100 N Ohio Street.
Compost/Limb Site
Ordinance No. 2190 (also approved at the April 18, 2022 City Council meeting) amended certain sections of Chapter 15 Article 5 of City Code to establish that the Augusta compost/limb site at 400 Grove Street will be limited to residential customers residing within the corporate limits of the City of Augusta and landscaping/grounds maintenance businesses with an Augusta address. All commercial use of the compost/limb site had previously been prohibited as of the March 7, 2022 City Council meeting. Tree service businesses are still prohibited from using the compost/limb site. Fee Schedule Resolution No. 2022-11 established a $300 fee for a commercial compost/limb site permit. These permits can be obtained at the City Utility Office at 111 E. 6th Avenue.
