At the May 2, 2022 City Council meeting, Mayor Mike Rawlings signed a proclamation declaring the week of May 15-21, 2022 as “National Police Week.” During this week, we salute the service of law enforcement officers in our community and in communities across the nation.  Thank you to the officers in our Public Safety Department who keep our community safe. These individuals maintain order in our community by enforcing laws and codes, play a vital role in responding to emergencies such as natural disasters, and risk their lives to protect the lives of others.

If you know a law enforcement officer who works for the City of Augusta, or anywhere else, try to take some time out of your week to let them know how much your appreciate their hard work and commitment to protecting and serving.
